Empathy is an inherent characteristic of Ognyanovo K JSC over the years, being active in socially beneficial causes and supporting local communities in the following areas:

SUPPORT FOR THE CHILDREN, THE YOUNG PEOPLE AND THE DISADVANTAGED

А commitment to support the activities of the Child and Space Association, directed towards children having mental and physical disabilities: charity campaigns ‘To preserve the dignity and the uniqueness of those who are different’,  organizing Christmas bazaars and other initiatives.

Regular participation in the initiative of the UN Global Compact Network Bulgaria ‘Proud of My Parents’ Work’. Its aim is to deepen the links between education and the real business and improve the insufficient career guidance in schools. Ognyanovo K JSC is one of the companies involved in the project since its origination. It is important to show children that work is of need and value, that every person is necessary and useful to society, no matter of his or her profession.

‘Beyond the Darkness’ charity events in support of blind people for an access to the Fine Arts through audio text and tactile cards.

SUPPORT FOR THE CULTURE

Few are the companies that are in the list of patrons supporting the culture in Bulgaria. In this connection let’s mention only one of the many initiatives, namely: the traditional support in the last 15 years of the students from the National Academy of Art by organizing the competition-exhibition ‘The Stone Speaks as Well …’, linking in a unique way the business and the art and encouraging young people in their creative expression.

Charity events and sponsoring of various cultural projects with the aim to provide opportunity for realization of young talents and unconventionally thinking people in Bulgaria, like the ‘Roots’ Plainair, the best works of which were exposed during the European Heritage Days, 2007 in Brussels under the auspices of the Council of Europe and the European Commission. What better expression of the motto of Ognyanovo K JSC ‘Tradition and Innovation’.

ACTIVITIES FOR PRESERVATION OF CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL HERITAGE IN THE AREAS OF COMPANY’S WORKPLACE

• cross monument construction at the new cemetery near Slivnitsa
• sponsorship in issuing regional literature (for events and facts of life in Slivnitsa region and Dragoman)

Improvement of the urban environment, such as the construction of an ice rink in the city of Slivnitsa and active assistance in celebrating the holidays of the local communities.

BUSINESS AND SCIENCE – HAND IN HAND

Over the years, Ognyanovo K JSC has supported actively, sponsoring the regular scientific conferences ‘Geosciences’ of the Bulgarian Geological Society. Let’s not forget the assistance given to the students of the University of Mining and Geology and the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy, providing the annual subscription for certain publications.

CAUSE-RELATED MARKETING

Product donations – providing lime for restoration of churches and monasteries – Rila Monastery, St. Ivan Rilski Ruen Monastery, the church in Buchim, Macedonia and others.
